Tips On Avoiding A Bad Linky Love Train

When one plunges into blogging, the first thing that comes into mind is link exchanging, which is believed by many of us bloggers to be the golden ticket to huge amount of traffic and successful blog optimization and monetization.

Yes it could be every blogger’s golden ticket, if the blogger knows how to utilize the opportunity.

While link exchanging turns your simple online diary into a popular site, it can also cost you some misfortunes if you are less careful about it, especially when you link your blog to a site that is not highly recognized, infamous and holds a bad reputation.

You ought to be vigilant when it comes to this one because if you buck up the wrong tree, it can affect your page rank negatively.

If you think that emails have a fair share of scams, well it is actually the same for link exchanging. Hence, we would like to share you some useful tips on how you can avoid those unwanted scams.

1. If you were to receive a link exchange request, do research on the site first. This is really advisable especially if your site is an online business site whereby you need to ensure that its status is well maintained. Analyze the site in terms of whether it provides valuable information that you can benefit from, its significance towards your readers and visitors, and the page rank. A site that is ranked ‘0’ may not necessarily be a bad site, but there is a possibility that the site had once or is currently given a penalty. So do look into these areas before accepting the offer.

2. Upon visiting the site, check that your link can be found in the site to indicate that your link has been added into the blogroll or network. Not all webmasters are honest about a link exchange, or perhaps they have their own hidden agenda when they informed you of their request for a link exchange. Hence, you should ensure of this aspect.

3. Once you have found your link in the site, click on the link to validate that the URL is correct. This is because webmasters sometimes make use of your link name to link to their site instead of yours. This is another area that should be looked into as well.

4. Look out for the URL code by right clicking on the link and selecting ‘Properties’. If you notice that a java script or codes besides htm and html, or if you notice ‘rel’ included in the link, the exchange should be declined. These codes are actually used in order for the search engines to overlook your link and will therefore not make any difference to your page rank and traffic.

5. Ensure that the page code is such that your link is not associated with a robot.txt file, which can cause your link to be disregarded by search engines. You can do so by selecting ‘View’ and then ‘Source’ from your browser task bar.

6. Check that your link has been displayed on the home page of the site that requested for the link exchange. If your link is displayed on one of the other pages on the site, visitors of that site will not even know about your link. This is also apparently a tactic that dishonest webmasters would use so that you will not gain as many visitors as possible. So before accepting the link exchange, make sure that your link can be clearly seen on the home page rather than other pages of the site.

Being careful with link exchanges is like being careful when choosing your friends. You would only accept friends who truly want to build a friendship with you instead of those who want to build a friendship just to take advantage of you in the end.

The same theory applies to link exchanging.

With that, be careful not to hop on board the bad linky love train!

Talking about linky love train, we just remembered that Marzie has invited us for a ride on her enormous linky love train. We would definitely hop on board because she is a fine example of a true friend in the blogosphere who would support us and even help us when we need one. It was surely worth exchanging links with her!

Now we too would like to invite a few others for this amazing train ride!

The rule: When you get tagged, you have to add your name below the person who tagged you and by doing so you are letting the list grow.

Blogging For Friendship: A Blogging Community Project

We had recently put up two posts that touched on technology and blogging bringing people together: Be Heard, Start Blogging and Technology Brings People Together. You would probably think that we have talked enough about the technology and blogging world, but frankly, those posts are just the tips of the iceberg. Technology and blogging are somewhat like the subject of love. They are issues that we have so much to talk about, and at times, we do not even know where to begin, just like love.

After all, they are very closely linked to love, because healthy blogging and socializing through technology do promote love, peace and joy among the community. This is all about creating a beautiful friendship that is beyond compare.

We would like to see our blogging world flourish and blossom every single time. All of us in our right minds should never include ‘racism’, ‘prejudice’, and ‘discrimination’ in our dictionaries when we enter the blogosphere. In the blogging world, we are one. This inimitable world is created for all of us from all walks of life to come together, express opinions on life’s affairs, and at the end of everything, learn from one another.

And when we do that, we are actually fostering friendships among one another, which in turn will contribute to the unity of the community. In the process, we should not let anything hold ourselves back. We should not be too mindful about who our friends are and where they come from. All we need to know is that we are in this world to communicate and educate one another.

Imagine what this small blogging community can do for the world if all of us keep on practicing healthy blogging, meaning blogging without taking into consideration race, religion and status. Imagine how much love this world will receive if we do our part in promoting equality in blogging.

There should be nothing but love and friendship in blogging. And without a doubt, it is through blogging that our team has made friends with exceptionally wonderful people from all over. One thing for sure is that we will always give our love and support to our fellow friends who have been reciprocating us with their love and support too, no matter who they are.

In fact, we have made quite an amazing discovery that blogging has brought about for us. Here are a few people who have filled up and brightened up our circle of blogging friends, and the best part is that they come from different places and backgrounds!

Bobby, from the United States shares the exact same sentiment as us.

He had asked us to join this awesome blogging community project that aims to promote love and friendship in the blogging world.

Then along came Rolando, also from the United States.

Both are not only admired by many for their excellence in writing, but also, for how they make others, including us, feel welcomed.

One would never get enough of visiting them, especially because of their receptiveness towards the Asian culture.

Next, we have Marzie from Malaysia, a blogger with a bubbly personality and the sincerity to make friends with others. She would never fail to send us her comments and is indeed a source of motivation for us to keep on moving.

Another, blogger friend from Malaysia, Jean Chia. Jean had created the wonderful NAFA Team logo.

She also likes to give friendly comments to the articles that we would post, and that creates so much liveliness to the blog.

She is one of the friendliest blogger around.

And then there is Jamilla from Brunei. She has a sweet personality, as sweet as her Jamy Latte.

She would always come up with wonderful surprises for her friends and us.

There was even a time when she wrote a post especially for her friend, Nonnie, where she urged everyone to vote for Nonnie as the best Bruneian Blogger.

And yes, how can we forget our lovely friend, Jesse? She is a South African with a beautiful heart and beautiful looks to boot. She has given us so much support in whatever we have done. When it comes to any of our community projects, she would never fail to lend her helping hand and spread the word. This blogging world would mean nothing without such a kind-hearted and beautiful person like her.

There are so many wonderful bloggers to talk about and those names we mention were just a few of these bloggers.

They are all diverse in race and culture, but they have one thing in common, and that is the love and support they have showered us with. This is what blogging can do! It can bring people of different backgrounds together as one, so long as we want to put aside out differences and focus on interacting, building friendship, and most of all, educate one another on things that can affect all of us.

Blogging is apparently a form of social networking. One blogger gets connected to the other, and the other will tell the rest of his or her friends about the blogger. From there, the blogger will establish more connections. That is how it works!

Watch this video to learn more.

You agree with us on this don’t you? Then we are sure you will also be supportive of this amazing project.

Spread this word to the rest of your friends in the blogosphere by writing a post similar to this, and perhaps create a badge to promote friendly blogging.

To everyone in the blogging community, let us all stand together as one and bring love and friendship to the blogosphere and to the whole wide world.

We had created a badge for this movement. You may wish to copy the html code below if you like the badge.

We Stand As One

Be Heard, Start Blogging

Blogging is one that can make a huge difference to our lives. We may not be stars, TV or radio personalities, or even famous professionals and experts. But once we plunge ourselves into blogging, we will end up being known and wanted by the whole wide world, as if we are stars. What an amazing impact blogging can create for us.

It even makes our work be honorably recognized by top-notch sites like Helium and Ezine Articles. Read more on the two posts that talked about the recognitions that our team had been given: NAFASG Team Recognized As Helium’s Top 5% Best Writers and NAFASG Team Featured At Ezine Articles And Recognized As Expert Authors. Imagine how it feels when your written work, which was initially kept to yourself, suddenly turns into a worldwide phenomenon that gains prestigious recognitions like these.

But most of all, blogging lets your opinions and viewpoints be heard. It lets you express yourself not only to those who are closest to you, but also, to everybody else from across the globe. There is a chance that your opinion could be read by someone out there, and maybe, a chance that someone would be able to learn from you and apply it in his or her daily life. It is through blogging that you can actually change someone’s life forever, and vice versa.

So if you have the desire to let your voice be heard by the community worldwide, then blogging is the avenue for you. Who knows? You might just have what it takes to be that successful blogger who can make an impact towards others.

A good friend of ours, Mel Kaye, has tagged us on a very unique meme that we feel can bring success for all bloggers who want to be heard and noticed worldwide. Together we can make this meme emerge as the winning one, and make you a winner in the blogging world.

Technology Brings People Together

What the world needs now…is love sweet love…And the best way for us to show our true love for our world is when all of us can come together as one, despite our natural born differences and our diversity in culture and race, building a warm and friendly global community.

A community is defined as a group of people with a common lifestyle, attitude, belief and need. A global community, on the other hand, is all about different communities coming together to share their views and perceptions of the various aspects of life by means of healthy and unbiased interactions. This is something that the blogging world has managed to achieve thus far.

We have seen bloggers from all over the world hopping over to blogs, sending comments and interacting with one another without taking their cultural and racial differences seriously. All they set their minds to do is to make friends and learn from each other. No discriminations involved!

You can also read this article posted by our dear friend, Rolando, which touched on the fact that blogs do not discriminate, and that blogs are designed for everyone from all walks of life to speak their minds. This is a perfect picture of a global community, which can even be seen in this blogging world.

This is likewise in YouTube, a video broadcasting website that displays all kinds of videos, of which some are related to affairs that have apparently brought the global community closer together.

YouTube actually works just like other interactive websites. It is not only about watching videos passively. Viewers of the videos are allowed to express their opinions and send in their valuable comments about the videos. If you were to read the comments that come in, you will find that there are interactions involved between people from totally different backgrounds. These people may not have talked or met up with one another before, but once they start cracking conversations on the videos, they simply cannot stop.

This is how great the impact YouTube can bring about to the global community. Camaraderie is being fostered among people through these virtual conversations and people can find a sense of satisfaction in them that they are a part of the YouTube family, whether as the ones uploading the videos or the ones commenting on them.

Watch this video to see users’ reactions towards YouTube based on an interview that was carried out during a gathering among YouTube users held at Red Top Mountain State Park located in Cartersville, Georgia.

Kudos to YouTube for bringing the community together as one, and also to the blogging world that has brought our team closer to all the bloggers out there. With the existence of YouTube and many of such networking websites, bringing the community together is indeed the crowning glory of technology.

Watch this video that talks about how technolgy brings people together

What Is RSS?

What Is RSS?Some of you might be wondering? What is that orange icon doing in a blog or site for? Remember how it was like to find out about the latest information and articles? A user would have to visit the blog personally to do so.

If he or she was unlucky, he might have seen himself or herself spending time visiting the blog just to find out that there is not a single update to look forward to. In other words, he or she would end up wasting time going through all that hassle.

But right now, a user has no reason to feel this way, because instead of the user visiting the blog, the blog would be the one coming to the user. It will not come empty-handed!

It will come with all the newest and latest information and articles through a computer screen near you, which means that you need not worry about whether your precious time has been wasted on blogs without updates. So you can be guaranteed to look forward to only the newest in that blog!

All these are made possible by none other than the state-of-the-art!

What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’, has been extensively trusted by millions of Web surfers worldwide to get them updated on the latest that their favourite sites have to offer.

The Old Method
Unlike the conventional method whereby you had to bookmark the sites and manually visit the sites recurrently just to get up-to-date information, RSS takes it to a whole new level by making all these latest news come to you instead.

Saves Time
RSS lets you receive all the updates you have been looking for via your email accounts, thus allowing you to save your time from having to visit and re-visit the sites, and you can even view those information at your own pace.

All you need to do is subscribe!

Here are the following instructions you should take note of to get started with RSS:

1. Get yourself an RSS Feed Reader. You can make use of the user-friendly and free feed readers like Google Reader, MyYahoo and Bloglines. These feed readers can guide you along on the fundamentals of RSS.

2. The feed readers act like your emails because if there are articles that have yet to be read, the article title will be marked bold, just like those unread messages in your email accounts. You can click on the articles and read them via the feed readers themselves. There are other feed readers that you can consider. Choose whichever you prefer. Here is an example of some feeds that you can subscribe to.
Click For Larger ImageClick For Larger Image

3. Next, search for feeds to subscribe to, either on a site or in your Internet browser. In many sites and blogs, you will come across colourful buttons and widgets that appear in various shapes and sizes. The standard color of the icon is orange in color.

You can simply click on one of those buttons depending on your preferred feed reader, and follow the instruction accordingly on how to subscribe to the feed.

4. You can also search for sites that have already integrated their feeds in them. How do you know the feeds have been integrated? Just look at the corner of your address bar and you will see the icon that represents the feed that is being used. You can find the various feed icons in our blog. Here are some examples that you can find in our blog.

Click For Larger ImageClick For Larger Image

Just click on the icon and then follow the simple instructions on subscription of the feed.

If subscribing to RSS Reader is not your cup of tea, then you can choose subscribe to RSS Feed and receive the updates from your sites via your email account. You can even choose to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive any more updates from the sites.

Tips On Identifying And Avoiding Internet Scams

Tips On Identifying And Avoiding Internet ScamsIn doing something, we are always advised to follow our hearts. No doubt it is practical for us to do so, but in the context of the Internet world, following your hearts can sometimes lead you into calamities you have never thought could happen to you.

You would also need to let your minds determine the actions you would take. This is especially crucial when it comes to identifying our most horrible nightmare in the Internet world; Internet scams.

Prevention is better than cure. Hence, let us be cautioned about Internet scams right away! Here we would like to share with you some of the prominent scams that you should be mindful of:

Moneymaking Offers
The first type of scams comes in the form of moneymaking offers. They would give you an assurance that you will earn big bucks without having to do any kind of job. But ask yourself! Is it realistic that money can come pouring on you without you having to get on your feet? So to avoid this, you should have the ability to develop a common sense that helps you think things logically. Yes, earning a living through shear hard work is not easy, but at least you are guaranteed the money that you are supposed to receive. It would be even harder on you to find out that you have signed up for a scam.

Protection From Fraudulent Moneymaking Offers
It is important that you are educated on the moneymaking offers that you should never trust, and all that can be done by visiting RipoffReport. At Ripoff Report, you will discover a long list of moneymaking websites that are unreliable, and if you are caught in a moneymaking scam, you can directly file a report on the scam for free. All reports filed in Ripoff Report will be published in the site, so everyone who visits the site will be able to view the report and be kept informed of the latest moneymaking scams that are out there to cheat on you.

Email scams
Beware of email scams. Email scams will normally appear as emails from unknown sources that have never been added in your email address book. Be vigilant when dealing with emails like these. To find out how you can be protected from email scams, please read our post on how to Be Protected From Scams.

Gaining Traffic
The next type may not involve monetary earnings, but it involves promises of gaining unbelievable amount of traffic. Some of these sites would even request you to pay a small amount just so that you can receive the desired amount of traffic for your site. But it is actually not worth paying for it because your traffic increase is based on machine generated hits rather than the visits that your site receives. Besides that, it is not sensible for a networking company to sell such a huge amount of traffic to you at an extremely low price. Therefore, always believe in making the effort to create an attractive design for your site and inserting informative and eye-catching articles, which can contribute to an increase in the number of visitors and the amount of traffic, although it takes a longer time.

Search Engine Submission Software
Another form of Internet scam is the search engine submission software. These are search engines that would require users to purchase a submission script just to make a new search query. The popular search engines that you can find in the Web would never compel you into doing such things. So if you stumble upon a search engine that does this, just give it the elbow.

Link Brokers
The next group of scams to beware of is the group of link brokers. Actually it is not a mistake to buy links from a website, but it would be a mistake if you were to rely on a website that gives false promises that you will gain links and attain an increase in your traffic.

The most recommended suggestion for all would be to buy links on websites that are associated with what you are selling, and ensure that your visitors can see the links you have bought. In this way, there is a chance of a boost in your traffic based on your targeted visitors who click on those links.

Link Exchanges
A scam can also be spotted when doing link exchanges. Websites that offer link exchanges can be a little deceiving most of the time, especially those whose link pages are hard to navigate. Therefore, always believe in the conventional way of link exchanging. Visit blogs that you are interested in linking to, and request for a link exchange. If they do not link back to you after a while, you can definitely tell that this is not the blog worth counting on for your blog to boost its status, and thus should be removed from your list.

Identifying Genuinity Of The Blog/Website
To check the Technorati rankings, authorities and votes, visit Technorati and navigate to the Technorati Search Bar, type the URL of that website or blog, and then click on the search button. The actual ranking of the website will display for you to spot whether the ranking tallies with the one shown in the website itself, or there is a difference in the ranking.

To check for Google Page Rank, there are several free sites that you can visit. Enter the URL of the website through the free page rank checker, and it display the actual ranking of the website itself. This can also allow you to compare and contrast the ranking shown in Google Page Rank and the one shown in the website.

Below are the recommended page rank checker.

Official PageRank Checker
Blogflux Page Rank
PR Checker Info

To check for Alexa Ranking, visit Alexa and use the Alexa Search Bar provided. It works just like Technorati search bar, whereby you can type the URL of the website and then click on the URL link. From there, you can identify if there is any difference in the rankings shown in both the Alexa Ranking page and the website.

As long as you can spot a difference in the ranking, you can be assured that it is one of the Internet scams that you ought to avoid.

A True Account
Internet scams can come knocking at anyone’s door at any point in time. A Valuable Lesson

How Social Bookmarking Works?

When you are carrying out a research on something or looking for the best websites that you would wish to surf everyday, you would definitely want to take note of the sites that contain all that information you need.

However, there can be so many sites of your interest that you may find yourself having a hard time organizing them. You may even end up having to go to your search engine and browse through the different URLs to look for those particular URLs again, which you may not be able to recall.

Troublesome isn’t it? But you can save all that trouble for yourself, and also, for others. It can all be done with the magic of social bookmarking.

First of all, you ought to know what bookmarking really is. Think about your storybook! When you use a bookmark and place it on the page where you had stopped at, you will very well know the next day where to continue your reading from. This applies to websites too!

When you bookmark a site, you can easily gain access to that particular site without having to go through the search engine and look out for the site from a long list repetitively. The site will be right there waiting for your next couple of visits! That is just the tip of the iceberg.

In addition to that, it is ‘social’. In other words, others can also browse through the site that you have bookmarked so that they, too, need not have to look for that same site that you have bookmarked from a long list.

How can this be possible?

Let us take the example of the blogosphere. You can see that many of our bloggers like to place tags on one another. Through tags, you will discover many of the URLs of the various blogs, known or unknown to you, and in that way, you can simply click on the URL links to gain access to their blogs and bookmark them.

Tags can also be in the form of categories of your interest where you can place in public websites. This means that both you and the others around you can view the sources of information at the same time. This is what you can expect in social bookmarking.

Watch this video and listen carefully to this lucid explanation of how Social Bookmarking works.

So get yourself pro-active in social bookmarking because it lets you and the others in your network work more productively with the Internet.

Did we just mention ‘tags’?

We just remembered that we received a cool tag from Marzie and Rolando, and we are here to share it with you. This is in fact a fine example of how social bookmarking can help save lives…literally…

Before we go any further, please take note of the rules as listed by Liz of Successful Blog:

1. Copy the unfinished story below into your post box.

2. Fill in the blanks to finish the story. For most of the blanks use a blogger’s name, a trait, a post title, and a blog title — get creative.

Finish each sentence in an unexpected way. You can find plenty of links to spark your imagination at the A-Z directory.

3. Link the text you added back to the blog or blogger you’re referencing.

4. Be creative. Change the words or storyline as you wish in order to fit in the links you like.

5. When you’re done, leave a link with the title to your version of the story in the comment box below.

Here is the story template:

Here is our story
Title: How Social Bookmarking Saved A Princess

The handsome and gallant Male NAFA was busy attending to Benji and Phoebe, when out of the blue, the Cooking Queen and the Poem King gave us a shock, with the queen serving her home made Chee Chong Fun, and the king reciting his self-written poem to entertain the adorable felines.

Poor Male NAFA felt neglected of all those privileges! But just when he thought that he was being deliberately deprived of the Chee Chong Fun and the poem dedication, the two of them whispered into his ears and said that Princess Karen has been captured by the monstrous Blogosaurus, and they just needed to distract the cats so that he could discretely leave them to save the damsel in distress.

You might think this is strange, but in the Nafa World Of Social Bookmarks, such things happen all the time.

Our brave and quirky hero knew exactly what to do – with the magic carpet, he flew off to get assistance from the Mighty Revellian.

Revellian may be mighty, but has a golden heart to boot. So he hopped onto the magic carpet to help in the mission to rescue the princess, but our brave and quirky hero had no idea where he should command the magic carpet to bring them to, and went to Rolando’s Playground, which was not so distant from where he was, to sit on the swing while thinking and thinking about the dilemma.

Seeking help for this dilemma, our hero headed down the road to Madame Joyce who would probably know the princess’s whereabouts.

The road passed three creatures – each of them was more interesting than the next. The first was Jamilla, The Latte Inventor..

The second was MT who was kind enough to save us from the heavy traffic during our magic carpet ride. The third was the apple of all eyes, Apple.

Our brave and quirky hero ran the rest of the way, and when he got there, he got another surprise! “Hey Joyce!” Our hero exclaimed.“Hey guys, I am enjoying a nice glass of soda with my dearest prince charming here in this exotic Web 2.0 Cafe.

Well there must be something that brings the both of you here,” she answered.
“I was playing with Marzie’s cats, when out of the blue, I was informed that the princess has been captured, but Revellian and I do not know where to go now,” our brave and quirky hero said, knees shaking.

“Could you spare me your thinking cap so that I can become a genius in this kind of rescue missions?” And so it passed that Joyce gave our brave and quirky hero the thinking cap.

He, together with his psychic Revellian, was off to rescue the princess from the clutches of the Blogosaurus. AND… he slashes that creature’s throat, untie the rope to save the princess, and all was well.

You might think this is strange, but in the Nafa World Of Social Bookmarks, such things happen all the time.

Web 2.0: World Wide Web At Its Peak

The emergence of the Web 2.0 has brought about many question marks in the minds of many. The main question asked is, “Is Web 2.0 a newer version of the Web with up-to-the-minute applications that could be beyond our imagination?”

The answer is no!

The precise definition of Web 2.0 is an evolution in the World Wide Web that serves as the parent program for all users, including software creators, and of course, us. What distinguishes Web 2.0 from Web 1.0 is the communication between the user and the provider that seems more detectable than before.

The relation between the user and the provider is no longer passive. Blogs and forums are the most obvious avenues for interaction between the publishers, Internet surfers and the advertisers and forum webmasters.

Watch this video from Mediated Cultures

A business owner can analyze the marketability of his or her products by communicating with the targeted market, all with the help of Web 2.0. An employee can end up telecommuting, meaning that he or she works from home, reason being that there is already a means of interaction between you and the people in your network, which is those software adopted by Web 2.0.

Web 2.0 is probably the symbolic evidence of the World Wide Web reaching greater heights.

With regards to this article, a good friend of our team, MT has tagged the team the following below. Let us come together and support this movement.

Please copy this post into your blog, reword it (only if you want to) and help to spread the word. Thanks.

The Long tail theory (2004), by Wired editor Chris Anderson states that Niche players has an edge as niche product sold online enjoys good profit in low volumes as compared to Mass market players (high volume, low profit) as Mass market players are facing mounting price, cost and compettition pressure.

It is all possible because of this level playing field called Internet and it's global reach, 24x7 availability and the power of personalisation/customisation.

The Long tail advantage can be applied to the blogging scene. As mentioned in my previous post, a network of small bloggers united together is bigger than a single superstar site! That's the secret behind Social Networking/ Community sites. The Big Brother companies of the Internet are beginning to realised this. They are starting to acquire these sites.

The point is we have our own niches, i have mine and you have yours. If we combine (linked together), we are a formidable force!

Just imagine, For positive product review! By positive i mean real review! If it is no good, say so! If ABC beverage company come up with a drink, and All 300
(let's say) of us reviewed the product and even if 85% says it is good!
(It will be tremendous positive impact on sales!
Just imagine how much real publicity compared to just advertising! not to mention the saving of advertising dollars!).
Word of mouth and recommendation is MORE powerful! I trust my friends and will most likely buy what they recommend! the reverse is true also.

The remaining 15% can be a positive feedback to the company to improve the product. It sure beats paid survey anytime!!!

Let's imagine again, If we activate this force for good cause, green movement, positive blogging direction like Blogging Etiquettes & Reality Niche This, we can make a difference!

If you are an advertiser or a company or someone that needs help, would you go to a single mega site or a collective linked Bloggers United sites? The answer is clear!

For a start, our bloggers united network currently includes: Nafasg Project heavy traffic (*Your Link Here*)

Be Protected From Scams

Emails are designed to provide convenience in communication with the other parties, but sadly, the privileges of emails have been misused extensively. Emails do have their downfalls, one of which is the existence of fraudulent scams.

Fraudulent scams are very enticing to our eyes. They would grab your attention by telling you how much you have won in a lottery, and that you would need to submit your personal particulars, including your bank account numbers, in order to receive the money.

But hold your horses everyone! Before you go any further, put on your thinking cap and analyze whether that email sent directly to you is genuine or just another bogus email. Here is what you need to know about scams! We would like to share with you about the scams that have recently been circulated to many of our email inboxes, claiming that the emails came from the UK National Lottery:

1. A genuine email from UK National Lottery would not reveal the amount that the recipient has won, but a scam would.

2. The organization would already have its own email address to keep in touch with people. That email address is without a doubt an invalid one, indicating that it is yet another fraud.

3. A scam would always request you to submit your personal particulars. This organization, in particular, will never ask for your details. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS!

4. Should the emails mention ‘Lottery Sweep Stake’ or ‘Winning Notification’ in their messages, they definitely do not come from the UK National Lottery.

So everybody, keep yourself alert. Do not be duped by these fraudulent scams. Here are the precautionary measures you should take to protect your inbox from being ‘harassed’:

v Do not click on links found in unknown emails.

v Do not deliver any advanced payments to these unknown senders even if they request you to do so to receive your ‘reward’.

v Never reveal your personal details through email.

v To visit a website, type the web address directly rather than to click on a link given to you via email. This is to detect whether the website address is valid and can be found in the server.

v The UK National Lottery will always ensure security in your details by asking security questions to facilitate in the establishment of your account with them. Other organizations would do the same too.

v NEVER DISCLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER TO AN UNKNOWN PERSON!!!

Readers do not let your Internet surfing experience be brought down because of these cock and bull stories via email.

Be vigilant! Beware of fraudulent scams!

Blogging Etiquettes

Blogging is a huge topic. Whenever one talks about it, one would not know where to begin. But what we should know is that in blogging, etiquettes really matter.

Sometimes we undervalue the importance of etiquettes that were instilled in us since our childhood days, but in life, such valuable teachings do go a long way.And here we are now in a world where etiquettes should never be left derelict.

So bloggers, we urge you to refer to the list of blogging etiquettes shown below and edify yourselves on what constitutes ethical blogging:

Ø A blog is meant to be informative. The primary purpose of blogging is actually to share useful tips and information that can benefit the society. This is most appropriate for a healthier and more decent blogging experience.

Ø What you post will be visible not only to your eyes, but also to the eyes of the whole entire world. Ponder on this! Would you be so naïve to make strangers from across the globe find out about your private life? And wouldn’t you mind turning your private life into headline news? If you really need to pour out something that is bothering your private life, keep it within the radius of where you are dwelling. If you wish to vent your anger, opt for any way of doing so except blogging about it.

Ø Blogging is supposed to connect the global community and foster healthy interaction where we can all learn from each other. Sadly, we have seen that some bloggers take advantage of blogging to counter attack each other with unconstructive criticisms. Yes, it is fine for all to accept criticisms because criticisms are the ones that make us progress further, but criticisms that are deliberately and publicly posted to display spitefulness are strongly discouraged.

Ø If you are involve in a link exchange, do inform your readers or those that link to your site that your site has undergo a major construction so those that link to you are able to take note. In this way, misunderstandings will not occur.

Ø Always show your appreciation to your fellow readers. They are the ones who can bring you further in the blogosphere. So whenever they send comments on your articles or your blog, do give simple thank-you notes that come from your heart.

Ø Never let your high standing in Technorati ranking and Google Page ranking transform you into a bigheaded blogger, who becomes picky on the choice of bloggers to be linked.

Take a look at ‘Our Networking Partners’ and you will come across our wonderful blogger friends of ours:

Mariuca a.k.a Marzie

Author Of mariuca.blogspot.com

Bobby

Author Of Revellian.com

They have been maintaining an amazingly high in Technorati ranking yet their modesty still shines till this day.

They would go the extra mile by helping others in the blogosphere find ways to increase traffic ranking.

Best of all, they would always give their undying support and faith to other fellow bloggers around them. They are undoubtedly the role models for all bloggers to emulate.

Go ahead and get to know these friendly bloggers.

We have been under the impression that chauvinism and resentment are only present in the corporate world, but little do we know that at times, they do exist in the blogging world.

Recently, our blog had been mistakenly labeled as an ‘Ad Bot’. Click here to find out more on Adbot.

A blogger that goes by the name of Shale had spread unpleasant rumours about our blog, stating that our principal intention of carrying out link exchanges to other blogs is to lure bloggers into buying the advertisements placed in our blog. As a result, lately, we have had some bloggers removing our blog link from their sites.

This is not a healthy blogging experience for any blogger who faces the same fate as our team. Hence, we hope that Shale would re-consider his current perception of our blog and stop spreading these unpleasant rumours to other bloggers.

The primary purpose for our setting up of this blog is nothing else but to sincerely share useful tips and information that can benefit our readers, and foster effective communication between people in every part of the world.

To all the bloggers out there, let us all put our hands together, put unethical blogging to a stop, and create a friendly and colorful blogosphere that we would want to live in for the rest of our lives.
