Earth Hour 2009: Vote Earth!

The question of the day from all of us to all of you...

Are you going to switch off your lights or let the lights remain switched on?

It’s your choice. But here is a little something we would like to put across to you. If you have chosen to leave your lights on, you belong to the category of supporters of global warming. But if you have chosen to switch off your lights, you have actually made a wise decision to vote EARTH!

The wait is finally over! Today, the whole world will be coming together to experience a global phenomenon like never before! Supporters and voters of our planet Earth from all walks of life will be turning off their lights for one very special hour, known as Earth Hour 2009, which will take place from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Earth Hour was first started in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in 2008, up to 50 million people from across the globe took part by switching off their lights. This year, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) is aiming to reach a target of one billion voters of Earth from all over the world for this coming event.

Henceforth, the NAFA team would like to urge all our fellow families and friends, and all of our readers and supporters, wherever you are, to come and join us in this global pursuit to save our Earth.

How do you vote Earth? Simply by switching off your lights between the times stated above! It is too simple an act to forego, and all it takes is just one hour off your time.

So be an individual who wants to make our Earth safe and protected from global warming. Sign up now to show your support for this very eventful moment of our lives.

Remember, we only have one planet Earth, so take good care of her. Vote Earth today, and everyday of your life.

Feed The Hungry Today

When we are given something to eat and the food is not to our liking, we would be ranting and throwing tantrums over it. But picture your life without even a single food to eat, and you would probably be wishing that you had just gorged that food that you had voluntarily rejected in the first place.

That is why we should never be ignorant towards the value of food. Even if it is not our preferred type of food, we should always remind ourselves that we are blessed with food to eat, and that others out there are apparently not as fortunate as we are.

And speaking of others, let us all realize the dreams of the millions of people who are hoping so much to be given ample food to eat, even if it is just a small bowl of rice.

There is a couple of sites that are presently giving their support towards people from all walks of life who are hungry, such as The Hunger Site, and we can all lend our helping hands to them by visiting the following sites. We can give free clicks, purchase the items offered in there, sign up for petitions, or even play a game, to help raise funds for the provision of food that will eventually benefit the hungry.

The Hunger Site

You can even help spread this important message to the rest of your family and friends via your blog, and then tag as many people as you wish so that the message can be passed on incessantly throughout the global community.

It is entirely up to you as to how you want to help feed the hungry, but no matter how small your contribution is, it will definitely create a major impact on the lives of these wonderful souls.

Just imagine the beautiful smiles engraved on their faces when they get to see their ultimate dreams come true, and we all have the power to do it for them.

All you need is a few minutes of your busy schedule to feed the hungry, which we believe you can commit to. So we do hope that you can start getting your donations coming in from today. Your kindness and generosity will mean so much to them.

And last but not least, always realize the importance of food in our lives and appreciate every single moment that we get to eat food.

This was a tag courtesy of Marzie.

And these are the sites that you can visit to start making your contributions:

And with that, we would like to tag:

Breast Cancer Awareness: Help Make June Survivor Month!

Before we go straight to the point, we understand that some of you had read this article on breast cancer before. This is, in fact, the third time that you will be reading it.

Nevertheless, we do not mind posting it again, because breast cancer is not a plaything. If we do nothing about it, our lives can be destroyed, but if we act now, our lives can be saved.

Breast cancer occurs when cancer cells start to develop in the breast tissues. In the recent years, breast cancer has become rampant among the women of the world, being ranked fifth in the list of deadly cancers.

Tragically, news had been spreading for more than a decade about famous female individuals who struggled to fight this killer disease, but the fight was in vain.

Those included in the list were singers Minnie Riperton and Dusty Springfield, Linda who was the beloved wife of Beatles member Paul McCartney, and Oscar award-winning actress Bette Davis.

There still are women out there who are braving this disease, some of whom have won the battle. Still, prevention is better than cure! So to all the women reading this, do take this matter as seriously as you can, before it is too late.

Let us explore the symptoms of breast cancer for earlier detection and prevention:

1. One will experience a change in the way the breast or the nipples feel. The nipple may soften or a thick lump may be seen situated near the breast or the underarm area.

2. One will also encounter a transformation in how the breast or nipples look. The shape and size of the breast or nipples may change and grow a little inwards. The breast skin may turn reddish or bloated and may develop edges that take after the skin of an orange.

3. The more evident symptom is the discharge that comes out from the nipples. It is normally yellowish in color.

If you observe that these symptoms have befallen upon you, start your engine and give your breasts an early prevention….

1. Avoid too much of alcohol. Limit yourself to drinking one glass or stop drinking it for good!

2. Maintain an acceptable weight because obesity is one of the factors that can heighten the risk of breast cancer. Improve on your dieting by restricting your fats intake.

3. Be more physically sound by carrying out regular exercises. Exercising contributes to the maintenance of your weight, thus reducing the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

4. Go for a mammogram for early detection of breast cancer. You should do so especially when you have reached the age of 50 and above.

5. Avoid sleeping with your bra on. Wearing a bra for more than 12 hours can contribute to the growth of cancer cells in your breasts. And do not keep on wearing the same bra for a few days. You should change to a brand new bra every single day.

To the women who are still fighting the disease, be strong and do not feel embarrassed about going through. Keep your spirits alive!

And to the rest of the women out there, take this seriously and do follow the tips given to ensure guaranteed protection from this ‘lethal weapon’.

With that in mind, let us all put our hands together and make the month of June the ‘Survivor Month’. Marzie and Jean have been very kind enough to let us be a part of this noble project, and we are more than honored to take it up.

The ‘Help Make June Survivor Month’ campaign is proudly organized by the Breast Cancer Site and its ultimate goal now is to attain 8 million clicks. With these 8 million clicks, you are actually contributing thousands of dollars for free mammograms that can account for early detection and protection from breast cancer.

Please read this heartfelt story and let this story tell you how important it is for you to lend a hand generously today…

A very long time ago my grandaunt Sylvia on my mother's side passed away because of breast cancer. Recently, our family had another scare, but this time it was on my father's side.

The doctors found six lumps the size of raisins in the right breast of his youngest sister. One of the lumps was cancerous.

The good news for her was that they found it early. She had regular mammograms and that is how they detected it. The bad news is that a lot of women out there who do not have health insurance and cannot afford to get tested. That is why there is an increase in fatalities related to this disease - a lot of women find out way too late to be saved.

You can help the lives of many women by spreading the word about The Breast Cancer Site and by clicking the pink button as many times as you can. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms.

The Breast Cancer Site

You'll be helping to save someone's mother, daughter, sister and friend. So please join me in spreading the word about this cause in the blogging community.

I know everyone has a lot of tags piling up, but I hope that the following people can post this one up ASAP. We only have a little over 3 weeks to reach 8 million clicks.

You have seen in the story that they have about 3 weeks to make this campaign a success. So let’s get it on!

We will not tag anyone in particular, but we do hope that you will join us in this community project because if you do, you can make a huge difference to the well being of our community. Just leave a comment here to inform us or leave a comment at Rozella’s blog if you have put up this post in your blog.

The Fight Against Child Abuse: A Tribute To The Late Nurin Jazlin (1999 to 2007)

In our times of darkness, children are the ones who will brighten us up. No matter what ordeals we have to endure in our daily lives, we know that we can overcome them the moment we set eyes on children. Their innocence and purity in them will always give us a sense of peacefulness and calm that is beyond words. And it goes without saying that life would be meaningless without seeing them smile, hearing them laugh and cry, and feeling their small and flawlessly gentle hands that want to reach out to us.

Yet, there are some who show no empathy and sensitivity towards these beautiful souls. Worse still, they would dunk themselves into physical violence and cruelty towards the children without even thinking twice. Such acts can deem someone to be worse than an animal, because even an animal has compassion and love for its young.

What is going on with this world? Why must such horrid acts be carried out? Why do these people ever exist in this world?

Please take this time to read this special message from us, and show your utmost support and sympathy towards the family of the late Nurin Jazlin, who passed away tragically and brutally at the age of only eight. Little Nurin Jazlin’s body was discovered in a gym bag on 17th September, one month after she was abducted. Upon the discovery, she was seen to be in the most horrifying state ever. Her hair was short and curled up, when it was originally straight and long. Her body was pale and badly bruised from head to toe, and there were traces of foreign objects like brinjal and cucumber found in the virginal area of her body.

Parents of the deceased took a long time to acknowledge her death, but eventually did after all the thorough DNA tests had been carried out by the forensics department. Her body was finally buried on 21st September. Her father, Jazimin Abdul Jalil, had expressed his sorrow towards this tragedy, stating that whoever who caused her death was not a human being, but rather, an animal.

This was the result of an outrage of modesty (See Picture On The Right) caused by a man of age between 35 and 40, who was thought to be someone who enjoyed torturing people, particularly children. Along with him was a 23-year-old lady, who was apparently his partner in crime. The lady had been found and called for questioning by the Malaysian authorities, whereas the man has yet to be found. Hence, we are urging all of you here to play your part in finding this serial killer cum sexual offender and ensuring that justice is served to the deceased and her family.

If you know of the culprits’ whereabouts, keep us informed immediately, or directly inform her uncle, Jasni Abdul Jalil, via his blog, which he had specially created as a form of dedication to her.

Over the years, we have heard of children’s lives being taken away due to the evil doings of heartless adults. Nurin’s death was one of the most gruesome and tragic deaths that made many of us shocked, despaired and furious. Do you want more children to die in the hands of these sadistic people? Do you still wish to hear such saddening news of child abuse? Then let us do our part right away! Together we can make this world a better place for the little ones. Let us all join hand in hand and put a stop to such cruelty towards them once and for all! Fight against child abuse today. We have created a logo to show our support towards the fight against child abuse. If you would like to join in this movement, please copy and paste this article in your site and place the logo. After displaying this article, leave us a comment and we will add your link in our list of bloggers who have voluntarily helped us in this movement.

Picture this situation and imagine how painful it would be to have face such a situation.

This person who have to face such catastrophe could have been you....

In view of that, we urge you to show your support for our friend, Jackie, and our pursuit for her long lost sister. Please copy and paste this article, from the start to the end of the article as indicated, to help spread the word to the rest of our friends and families also, please do add on our ‘NAFASG CERTIFIED PARTNER’ badge below the end of the article.

Thank you. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

THE NAFASG TEAM.

----Start Of Article-----

Please spare some time to read this post that we have written on behalf of a good friend of ours in the blogosphere. By reading this post and spreading the word to the others around you, you could reunite two people who shared an extraordinary relationship. You could be the one to reunite two sisters.

Her name is Jackie Hooper, also known as Shinade. Her biological mother was Maxine Soape, but a couple had adopted her. According to her, besides her mother, she also had a younger sister as a family member. Just like her, her sister, who was born in 1959 or 1960 and is three years younger than her, had also been adopted out to another couple, by her own paternal uncle.

Both were born in the same hometown of East Texas, but are now being adopted by two different couples and have been separated since then. The sister is currently staying with her adopted parents in Pueblo, Colorado.

Jackie has never stood a chance to watch her younger sister grow, and has never even known what her sister’s name is.

As painful as it is to be worlds apart from your friends, it is even more painful to be worlds apart from your own flesh and blood. So readers, we hope that you can show some sense of empathy towards Jackie ‘Shinade’ Hooper who longs to rebuild her life with her younger sister whom she holds very dear in her heart throughout the years.

This is your chance to do something good for someone in our global society who is in need of our helping hands.

If you can provide any information about Jackie’s sister that would be able to assist Jackie in her search, we urge you to keep us in the loop or directly inform Jackie at her blog. Your liberality towards helping out in this search would be greatly appreciated by all of us here, but the one who would be most thankful to you is Jackie herself.

A little kindness goes a long way. Readers, please show your compassion towards someone who wants nothing else but to reunite with her beloved younger sister once again. They share a strong kinship, and they deserve to be together till the end of time.

Please read this special message from our friend, Jackie, and start doing your part in finding her long lost sister.

“My only message would be that I would so like to have the opportunity to get to know her and her family. I know she has children also. And, that I love her even though I don't know who she is or where she is.” – Jackie ‘Shinade’ Hooper

Looking For A Long Lost Friend

SANDY G

Dear Readers,

We hope that you can spare some of your time reading this article. It would mean a lot to one of our good friends in the blogosphere, if you can help her in this.

Our good friend named Sandy is currently searching for a person whom she had always regarded as her best friend. They were very close to each other, until a conflict between them arose. Ever since then, both of them lost touch of each other.

It has been nine long years since they last communicated with each other, and Sandy is deeply affected by her best friend’s absence. Her greatest wish right now is to reunite with her best friend and be close to her like before.

Her best friend’s name is Judy Sanford and is staying with her husband named Mike. According to Sandy, she was last found to be staying in California. Whether she is still staying in California or not is still a question mark. But you could be the person to answer the question!

If you happened to know Judy and her whereabouts, kindly inform us or inform Sandy directly via her blog. Even if you have never heard of Judy, you can still do your part by spreading this heartfelt message via your blogs.

Your immediate response to this message is greatly appreciated. What we are doing may be something small, but if all of us can put our hands together and be part of the search, it can bring two best friends together again after nine long years.

Sandy, please be strong in going through this obstacle in your life. Have great faith that miracles can happen, always look on the bright side of life, and believe that your long awaited wish could come true. We are here for you and will do our best to help you.

Judy, if you are reading this, please contact Sandy as soon as possible. She really misses you and wants to make up for the lost times. Let bygones be bygones. Hope that you will reciprocate Sandy’s feelings as soon as you can. (end of article)
