The Famous White" Winnie The Pooh" Bear Alive

KnutPolar bears are probably the most adorable creatures of the world. Who can resist their white and fluffy fur and the way they move about in the cold winter?

They can sometimes resemble a snowman that can move. But there is definitely more to these grizzly bears that we should get to know about. The most prominent feature of the polar bears is the white fur, which is there for two reasons.

First of all, the fur provides warmth to them, which explicates why they are able to survive in extremely cold conditions in the Arctic. Secondly, the whiteness of the fur actually helps them to camouflage with the surrounding area, so that they will be safeguarded from hunters and enemies.

Besides the white fur, they also have short tails and tiny ears that apparently prevent loss of heat, and small heads and long conical bodies that allow them to swim in the waters. They will make good use of their stay under the cold conditions by hibernating, which actually helps them preserve much energy that they will need to survive in the cold.

These are the things that make polar bears one of the most distinctive creatures around. And Germany was the luckiest country in the world to have a polar bear living and breathing in their Berlin Zoo, which became a world phenomenon early this year. Yes, we are talking about Knut!

Knut was born on 5 December 2006 in Berlin Zoo. Its mother, Tosca, was a polar bear that used to be part of a circus act in Germany. Unfortunately, Tosca abandoned Knut on a rock at the polar bear compound. Knut was found and saved by zookeepers of the Berlin Zoo and has since been staying alive for more than thirty years.

Knut And ThomasFortunately for Knut, a zookeeper named Thomas Dörflein voluntarily took over its mother’s role of raising it up to where it is today. Thomas has been showing a tremendous amount of compassion for it by feeding it with sufficient cat food, vitamin food and bottles of milk. In fact, Thomas would even go to the extent of serenading Elvis Presley’s songs to put it to sleep. Kudos to Thomas for being an exceptionally kind zookeeper!

Knut finally made its public appearance at the Berlin Zoo on 23rd March 2007, being watched by thousands of visitors of the zoo, ranging from the young to the old. Tourists also came to view the antics of this unique creature, as well as a massive group of 400 journalists and reporters from all over the world. Thomas earned a spot as Germany’s household name, for being its caretaker.

Tips On Eliminating Cat Urine Stain and Odour

Cats can tickle us with their irresistibly delightful ways, and can make us grin from ear to ear with their purring and mewing. But it becomes an annoyance when they began to relieve themselves in the wrong places!

Yes, we are talking about cats urinating on your household belongings like your furniture or carpet. The stain could be quite easily removed, but removing the odour is definitely a chore. You cannot afford to leave your furniture odiferous because cat urine contains bacterial particles that can infest your belongings and eventually spread to you or anyone who stays with you.

So cat owners, if you are in need of a solution to this problem, here are some tips on how you can get rid of both cat urine stains and odour quickly and effectively:

Ø Do not ever clean the stain using detergents that contain ammonia because a cat’s urine also contains ammonia and using such detergents will add on to the odour. As a matter of fact, it will attract the cat even more to urine at that same spot.

Ø Use a large amount of vinegar and small amount of water to form a strong solution. Rub the solution a little on the stained area, and put a heavy object on the area itself. Do not rub the solution anymore. Wait for the solution to dry up, and then repeat the steps. This time, the solution should be made of lesser amount of vinegar and more water.

Ø Wet the affected area with water and pour baking soda on it. Once it has dried up, remove the baking soda by brushing or vacuuming.

Ø You are strongly encouraged to use detergents that contain peroxide and pour on the area. You can also combine the detergent together with Listerine, as it will cover the odour of the urine. Let the mixture be taken in for five minutes, and then remove the stain. The process is to be repeated till the area is finally clean and odour-free.

Now that the stains and odour have vanished into thin air, you should now take actions to ensure that your cats do not dirty your belongings ever again! So how would you prevent your cats from urinating all over the place?

Ø Place mothballs on that area where your cat likes to urinate. This will make the cat avoid urinating at that area.

Ø If your cat frequently urinates, it could be infected with a urinary tract disease, so do bring it to the vet to be examined. Sometimes its urines due to stress so let it stay in an enclosed and clean area on its own. Cats need to relax too!

Ø Train your cat to urine at the toilet.

Ø If your cat is in favour of a particular area to urinate, blanket the area with a tin foil for the day.

With these tips, you can keep your adorable felines well-behaved, and save yourself from all the trouble of having to put up with the unwanted urine stains and odour coming from them. A good piece of information indeed for those who are intending to keep one!

So cat owners, do not fear, because our tips on eliminating cat urine stains and odour are here.

The Award-Winning Cat – Oscar!

There was Tom the cat, then there was Felix the cat…now introducing… OSCAR the cat! But this is not another cartoon character, and it is no ordinary cat. It is a cat understood to have been blessed with a ‘supernatural power’. Yes, this feline is believed to have the power to predict deaths!

Oscar may not have the human ability to verbalize the date and time of the deaths, but it has a remarkable intuition no one can ever imagine. It actually approaches the person and sits beside him or her a few hours before he or she is formally pronounced dead.

This 2- year-old adorable feline was discovered and adopted by the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in US ever since it was a kitten.

It has been very helpful towards the nurses and doctors simply by curling up nearer to the patients whose lives were going to be taken away in less than four hours.

Nurses and doctors have become so habituated to its exceptional ability that the moment it turns up at the particular ward or bedside, they knew they had to call the family members and tell them to stay strong.

Family members of the deceased patients are not dispirited from the method that Oscar uses to convey the deaths, but instead, are very thankful to it for being a trusty companion during the patients’ last few hours of being alive. It was once notified to us before that animals like cats and dogs do possess an inkling that human beings do not possess.

But perhaps what this cat can do is such an amazing discovery ever made! So if you happen to see this cat below waiting by your doorstep, I suggest that you mentally and emotionally prepare yourself for a bad news. That bad news could be meant for somebody who is staying with you. Or maybe… it is meant for you…
