Tips To Prepare For Your Wedding

Preparing For Your Big Day

Some of our faithful readers here would probably have found their special someone, and are all set to tie the knots. But perceptibly, it is not as simple as tying a knot literally…

Preparing for a wedding needs ample time and focus, and when the plan is executed, it is going to be frantic for the bride, groom and their family members and friends. So careful planning is essential so that the wedding that you have always been fantasizing in your bedroom will turn into the most beautiful dream come true!

There are various aspects of a wedding that you need to know when planning it. You would not want anything to cause unnecessary downfalls to your big day, would you? So take a look at this to-do list when arranging for your special day…

© Prepare a proper guest list. You should invite only those whom you are close to. Why would you need to splurge so much money to invite a hundred colleagues of yours when you are only close to a few of them? Why would you need to extend your invitation to distant relatives whom you have never met and talked to? Only invite those dearest to you, and that can save you from too much cost incurred and too heavy workload on the actual day.

© Plan your budget. Gauge what you can spend on and prevent yourself from overspending. You can allow for an amount that is a little out of budget, but could be useful for other items that you may need to purchase at the eleventh hour. Still, you are encouraged to spend within the budget and have some balance of the budget left.

© Invitations should be prepared a few months prior to the event. When preparing the invitation cards, please ensure that information in the cards are correct and there are no spelling or grammatical errors in them. They should be ready for mailing about four to six weeks in advance, so that the invited guests would be notified at least a week or two earlier.

© Mutual understanding between the bride and groom is imperative. Avoid too many disparities when planning for the wedding. Both should be open-minded to each other’s suggestions. Do not resort to involving parents into the matter. The matter should be kept at smaller scale and should be resolved quickly.

© Choose the right food caterer. In order to determine the most apposite caterer for the event, you can show up at restaurants of your choice as customers savouring their dishes and delicacies. Distinguish between the menus offered by the restaurants and opt for the restaurant that serves the best range of food to be your official caterer. Food is very important in all functions. It would become the gossip of the day if it does not accommodate to the guests.

© Plan the wedding date carefully. Discuss this with your partner, or seek assistance from a wedding consultant.

© Choose the right florist. The florist should be able to cater to the needs of both you and your partner. Ensure that he or she is able to provide the type and colour of flowers of your choice at a price within your budget. Selection of flowers is crucial as floral decoration is the item that turns a wedding into the most cherished moment for both of you.

© Communicate well with video takers and photographers. Prepare a hardcopy of the program schedule of the wedding. This will allow for proper coordination of the shooting done by them. The video and photos serve as memories for both the bride and groom to keep, so this should be done perfectly!

© Eat before your wedding commences. You would not want to turn frail and pale when making conversations with your guests. So this is absolutely important!

Your wedding day only happens once in your lifetime. Plan it carefully, and make it the most unforgettable day that you and your soul mate will want to share with your children and grandchildren in future. More wedding tips here.
