The Perils Of Hypocrisy
If anyone ever says that he or she has never met a hypocrite, you would probably have to think twice about that answer. That is because it is simply or perhaps almost impossible for us not to stumble upon hypocrisy in our lifetime. Hypocrisy is one that brings nothing but trouble from the beginning till the end. We all are aware of that! But what exactly is hypocrisy all about? That is something we ought to look into.
There are several definitions that encompass this term ‘hypocrisy’, depending on the various situations.
Hypocrisy is about giving false promises and feelings towards someone. A very straightforward example is when one expresses his or her love for you using melodious words that bring sparks into your heart and soul, which eventually turn out to be words without any meaning to them.
Hypocrisy can also be about professing that one has certain principles in life, but in actual fact, he or she does not even adhere to any of them. A hypocrite possesses the uncanny capability to preach to the people around him or her about the rights and wrongs, but unfortunately, does not possess the will to ‘practise what he or she preaches’.
Hypocrisy also develops within oneself. For instance, when your circle of friends are outgoing and sporty while you are more introvert and homely, you would end up adjusting your lifestyle and personality just to fit into the circle. You no longer become true to yourself, which in turn can harm you in the long run.
The worst case scenario of hypocrisy would be when one displays piety and good actions with the intent to harm others. This is normally the group of people whom children are vulnerable to, particularly strangers. They would present these children with sweets and candies to entice them, and once the children are under their fullest control, well....you would know what happens next, right?
All in all, hypocrisy is about pretence and false claims. We would not want to be a part of it, would we?
Henceforth, we should as much as we can steer clear of such an attitude. Be someone who is true to yourself and to others. Being two-faced is not going to help you hide the truth about who you are. It is perfectly fine to express the things that are lacking in you at times, because everyone has flaws after all. If you are ashamed to let it out, you can always stay silent and only say the things that are supported by actions that you can afford to take. Actions speak louder than words, remember?
So friends, refrain from hypocrisy and stick to the person you really are and the principles that you can religiously hold on to for life. Most importantly, always support your words with your actions before preaching others around you.

Good post Nafa! I think all of us in some way or other are 'hypocrites' by definition but by intent it may not be so! Choosing not saying the truth about an issue or a person is somewhat hypocritical! However sometimes we just don't want to hurt the other person's feeling and especially someone very sensitive and unable to take negative remarks!!
Yeah! as long as we check the intentions of our hearts when we select what to say is better than outright frank and blunt about things!

Well...it all depends on the situation u are facing. If it is such that the person is going to get absolutely shattered if u were to tell the truth, then it is probably best to just not say anything. But if the person is quite opened to different opinions, it would be so much better coz we can set ourselves free and get it off our chest!!

hi NAFA! i do agreed with you that it is impossible for us not to stumble upon hypocrisy in our lifetime. I've met alot of these peoples and usually they are not entirely bad. There will be times when they will be true to you too. I've learn how to recognize their fake selves and be caution with it. It's one of the survival skill if u want to live in this world, isn't it? :)
