Go Green!

Take some time off from your hectic lifestyle to smell the scent of fresh air, feel the breeze blowing against your face, and soothe your eyes by observing the true beauty of Mother Earth.

And while you are doing so, imagine what it would feel like if these things were wiped out from the face of the Earth.

Do you know that the human and animal populations have been rapidly growing by the day, and that the world population will eventually outnumber the world’s resources? This indicates that soon, we may be facing extreme shortage of natural resources, which will eventually lead to major epidemic affecting not only Mother Nature, but also, all existing living things in this world.

Nonetheless, we still have the chance to shield our world and our population from this crisis, and all this lies in our hands.

This is what our post, ‘Go Green!’ is all about.

Here are some of the ways for you to help save our world, our home.

1. Conserve water when you are using it. For instance, when you are brushing your teeth and you have yet to use the tap water, turn off the tap. Turn it on again when you are ready to rinse your mouth. By practicing these simple acts of water conservation, you can protect fishes and other marine lives from dying too soon.

2. Make it a habit to take public transport. Better still; walk if your destination is just a few steps away from home. In doing so, you are conserving fresh air by preventing unnecessary air pollution from usage of motor vehicles. Motor vehicles emit carbon monoxide through the exhaust pipes and this harmful pollutant can lead you to being infected by dangerous diseases like lung cancer.

3. Turn off electrical appliances and lamps when you do not need to use them. When it comes to charging your mobile phones, make sure you turn the electricity off the moment your mobile phone is fully charged. Think about the huge amount of electricity you can save by carrying out these little acts, and even the amount of money that you could have wasted with all that unnecessary electricity consumption. Most of all think about how you can reduce the amount of fuels being burnt everyday, which could cause unwanted air pollution.

4. When photocopying your documents, print or copy them back to back. In other words, use one paper for two pages of your document. You can even recycle the paper that has already been used to make a copy of another document. This can curb the over-utilization of papers, thus cutting down on deforestation or the chopping off of trees for production of paper.

5. Avoid purchasing disposable products like paper plates or paper cups. Purchase plates and cups that can be used over and over again.

6. Get all your family members and friends to conserve the Earth. The more the number of eco-friendly people, the better things will be for our world.

7. Educate the children on how important it is to conserve our Mother Earth. Emphasize to them that this is our home and we should always keep our home clean and green so that the entire population can live happily ever after.

There is so much more that we all can do for the betterment of our world. Many a times, we are ignorant about the fact that we individually can make a difference in life. But the truth is, if we want to, we can!

Go Green! is a very praiseworthy project initiated by our kind-hearted friend, Jean, and we are very pleased to lend a hand in spreading this good word to all our readers.

Hence, we are urging you to come and join Jean and us in the quest to conserve Earth. If we do not do it now, who will?

So make a difference today. Save our Earth, save our home. Go green!

So happy you're on board with Jean's program. For that, I shall wear something green today.I'm also going grocery shopping in a bit and will bring my own bag instead of using Cold Storage's plastic bags! ;)

Hmmm, must get something yummy for NAFA from my grocery trip, I'll be back!

I think it's so important for everyone to live a greener life. It's just so scary... the way the environment is acting up. It just worries me that maybe we might be too late...

    Hi Nafa!

Great to be back to see you with the green post! It's a great thing, going green. I have to admit, though, that I wasn't exactly the "greenest" person around and used to do all the bad stuff like waste paper, waste running water.

But now, I'm breaking that habit and feeling much much better. Don't even use the a/c much nowadays. The only power I still must use nowadays, is for my laptop. *blushes*

But, I hope everyone's efforts go a long way and that we're able to make a difference for the sake of our environment and future generations! :)

    Hi Rozella!

Yeah we agree. It scares us too. But going green starts with all of us! We're sure many of us here in the blogging world are doing our part to conserve Nature, so don't worry, it's still not too late. =)

    Hi Shemah!

Great to see u too! Come here more often ok? =)

Well u are not the only one. There are many a times when all of us here take our surrounding environment for granted. Only when we get to see the negative impact we had brought to our world, do we then realize how important it is to save our world.

Good to hear that u are practising eco-friendly habits. One step at a time, and u definitely can make a difference to our world. We are doing exactly that too. =)=)=)

Hello Jean, the 'project manager' for 'Go Green!' Hehe!

Don't mention. It is our responsibility to convey this message. Love ya too!

Hehe! Well we understand if u can't really grab hold of point no. 2. Sometimes, things like these just can't be avoided right? But at least there are other ways for u to conserve nature, so just continue with those other practices yeah?

    Go Green!!! =)
