Breast Cancer Awareness: Help Make June Survivor Month!

Before we go straight to the point, we understand that some of you had read this article on breast cancer before. This is, in fact, the third time that you will be reading it.

Nevertheless, we do not mind posting it again, because breast cancer is not a plaything. If we do nothing about it, our lives can be destroyed, but if we act now, our lives can be saved.

Breast cancer occurs when cancer cells start to develop in the breast tissues. In the recent years, breast cancer has become rampant among the women of the world, being ranked fifth in the list of deadly cancers.

Tragically, news had been spreading for more than a decade about famous female individuals who struggled to fight this killer disease, but the fight was in vain.

Those included in the list were singers Minnie Riperton and Dusty Springfield, Linda who was the beloved wife of Beatles member Paul McCartney, and Oscar award-winning actress Bette Davis.

There still are women out there who are braving this disease, some of whom have won the battle. Still, prevention is better than cure! So to all the women reading this, do take this matter as seriously as you can, before it is too late.

Let us explore the symptoms of breast cancer for earlier detection and prevention:

1. One will experience a change in the way the breast or the nipples feel. The nipple may soften or a thick lump may be seen situated near the breast or the underarm area.

2. One will also encounter a transformation in how the breast or nipples look. The shape and size of the breast or nipples may change and grow a little inwards. The breast skin may turn reddish or bloated and may develop edges that take after the skin of an orange.

3. The more evident symptom is the discharge that comes out from the nipples. It is normally yellowish in color.

If you observe that these symptoms have befallen upon you, start your engine and give your breasts an early prevention….

1. Avoid too much of alcohol. Limit yourself to drinking one glass or stop drinking it for good!

2. Maintain an acceptable weight because obesity is one of the factors that can heighten the risk of breast cancer. Improve on your dieting by restricting your fats intake.

3. Be more physically sound by carrying out regular exercises. Exercising contributes to the maintenance of your weight, thus reducing the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

4. Go for a mammogram for early detection of breast cancer. You should do so especially when you have reached the age of 50 and above.

5. Avoid sleeping with your bra on. Wearing a bra for more than 12 hours can contribute to the growth of cancer cells in your breasts. And do not keep on wearing the same bra for a few days. You should change to a brand new bra every single day.

To the women who are still fighting the disease, be strong and do not feel embarrassed about going through. Keep your spirits alive!

And to the rest of the women out there, take this seriously and do follow the tips given to ensure guaranteed protection from this ‘lethal weapon’.

With that in mind, let us all put our hands together and make the month of June the ‘Survivor Month’. Marzie and Jean have been very kind enough to let us be a part of this noble project, and we are more than honored to take it up.

The ‘Help Make June Survivor Month’ campaign is proudly organized by the Breast Cancer Site and its ultimate goal now is to attain 8 million clicks. With these 8 million clicks, you are actually contributing thousands of dollars for free mammograms that can account for early detection and protection from breast cancer.

Please read this heartfelt story and let this story tell you how important it is for you to lend a hand generously today…

A very long time ago my grandaunt Sylvia on my mother's side passed away because of breast cancer. Recently, our family had another scare, but this time it was on my father's side.

The doctors found six lumps the size of raisins in the right breast of his youngest sister. One of the lumps was cancerous.

The good news for her was that they found it early. She had regular mammograms and that is how they detected it. The bad news is that a lot of women out there who do not have health insurance and cannot afford to get tested. That is why there is an increase in fatalities related to this disease - a lot of women find out way too late to be saved.

You can help the lives of many women by spreading the word about The Breast Cancer Site and by clicking the pink button as many times as you can. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms.

The Power Of Song And Music

If one were to crack a conversation on music, it would probably take ages to end it.

The songs of yesteryears and today may be different sounding, but what they will always have in common is that they serve as the medium for everyone to express himself or herself, regardless of what he or she wishes to express.

Some songs express enjoyment and happiness. They are the songs that you would want to groove and move to, and make you let your hair down, especially after a hard day at work.

Some songs express grief and sorrow. Songs like these are normally played on the radio by people who have got something that is shattering their lives, such as the loss of someone they hold very dear in their hearts, but have difficulties translating those feelings into words.

There are songs that portray one’s anger and fury towards something or someone. When your heart has to face a deep cut, it just makes you want to throw tantrums, and that is what these songs are all about.

Besides that, there are songs that simply ease your mind and soul. Ballads are the best examples. When listening to these beautiful and melodious tunes, all you want to do is immerse yourself into another world of peace and quiet, where nothing gets in your way and you can forget about everything that has been stressing and tiring you for the day. They are without a doubt the ultimate stress reliever.

Not to forget, we also have inspirational songs that can lift you up whenever you are down. These songs can in fact make a difference in people’s lives, as long as you listen assiduously to the message behind every word in them. Such songs can even bring love, peace and joy to the entire universe. That is where the phrase ‘music is universal’ comes into the picture!

But above all, songs are always created to express love. Love songs are created for people who are deeply in love and have found the right person to fill up the special place in their hearts. On the contrary, they are also created for those whose love lives have fallen into pieces. And sometimes, love songs are also specially dedicated for someone special in our lives, like our family and friends.

Songs can at times be our way of telling someone what we are feeling at that point. And based on our experiences, that someone can actually sense what we are feeling and thinking about whenever we listen or hum to the song in his or her presence. So whenever we feel sad and express it through music rather than by talking it out, he or she is somehow able to grasp the fact that we are facing a crisis or dilemma and would even strive to help us overcome it.

Whatever the lyrics in the songs mean, they are always regarded as the form of expressing feelings and thoughts about something and someone. Life without songs, to us, is like a drawing without the colors.

So friends, remember to fill your life with songs and music that you can enjoy and relate to, because you may never know how much impact that song can make on you and your life.

With all that you need to know about songs, we are now going to share with you the seven songs that are soothing to our ears and that we can relate easily to at this juncture.
